#49: Redoran Hortator

After a long reflection on the events thus far, Wake returns to Ald-ruhn to discuss becoming Hortator with Athyn Sarethi and the rest of the Redoran Council members. Each is pleased with my explanations, and Athyn's judgment and trust is widely recognized among the rest of the council... except for Bolvyn Venim; he would never name an Outlander as Hortator. Steeped in tradition and blinded by his ways, Bolvyn challenges me to a duel to resolve this. He is a fool, and he will die by my hand for his short-sighted stubbornness; it is not the way I would have chosen, but he leaves me no choice.

When the dust settles, Athyn names me Redoran Hortator and gives me a ring as token of my new title, and he also gives me some interesting notes that came from a Temple courier. One note publicly denounces me, naming me as a wanted criminal, while the other comes on behalf of the Archcanon Tholer Saryoni, inviting me to his private quarters for "inspection" once I am named Hortator and Nerevarine by all the Houses and Tribes.
