In this video I am demonstrating a progressional exercise for developing the ability to perform a pull up. This is inspired by a recent series from MovNat that goes through a step by step process to build the prerequisites to nail your first clean pull up. Check out the MovNat website to find the full free guide.
For this movement, we are hooking the leg to allow for the development of pulling up without having to lift your whole bodyweight, and without requiring too much brachiation in the shoulders. This variation is excellent for people who feel strain when hanging with the arms overhead and have progressively build the strength and mobility to get closer to that position more comfortably.
