FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR, AMBER LAWRENCE drops new single RISE featuring CASEY DONOVAN.
Hot off the back of winning FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR at the recent Golden Guitar awards in Tamworth, Amber also was inducted into the Galaxy of Stars at the Festival, so what better time to release the 5th single RISE from her acclaimed 7th studio album ‘Living For the Highlights’, out Friday 3 February 2023.
RISE is a blues-tinged song reminding us that we all have good and bad days, but with the help of friends and loved ones you can RISE up and overcome whatever obstacles are in your way, ‘when you can find the rain in rainbows, you can change your mind, and rise’! The title and lyrics epitomise both Amber and Casey’s resilience and perseverance in their respective careers and personal lives, with both in the most amazing space of their lives.
Casey Donovan is currently one of the most in demand female artists in the country and whilst Amber & Casey have known each other for many years, they’re also management stable mates. In fact, a young Casey used to busk at the Tamworth Country Music Festival before her Idol days, so this duet, makes absolute sense in so many ways.
“Rise is a powerhouse song vocally, and the inspiring lyric of this song was best shared with two voices, so i couldn’t have dreamed up anyone better to sing with than the amazing Casey Donovan. She’s an incredible singer, artist and person, and I'm just so proud of the musical moment we’ve achieved together with ‘Rise’”
2022 was a massive year for Amber Lawrence with over 80 tour dates across the country including festival appearances at the Gympie Music Muster, Country By The River South Australia, Bold Jack Festival, Big Country Fest Berry, Boots & Beach, Cronulla Jazz & Blues Fest, South Coast Country, Cruisin’ Country, Murgon Muster, Beat on the Bend, Mandurah Country Music Festival, RegFest Sale, Australia Day Live at the Sydney Opera House, Adelaide Carols by Candlelight, guest co-hosting ABC Radio Saturday Night Country and special guest support on Tony Hadley’s (Spandau Ballet) Australian Tour. ‘Living for the Highlights’ was also the highest selling female country artist album of the year as well as ARIA nominated for Country Album of the Year. The Female Artist of the Year Award brings her Golden Guitar awards tally to six.
Celebrating her 20th year in the industry, The Galaxy of Stars award is in recognition of Artists who’ve made a significant contribution to Australia’s music industry and follows in the footsteps of music greats such as Slim Dusty, Troy Cassar-Daley, Lee Kernaghan, Beccy Cole, Kasey Chambers and John Williamson.
For 2023, Amber will continue to tour the country as well as feature on Festivals such as Meatstock (Sydney, Melbourne, Toowoomba), Cruisin’ Country, Country by the Bay Festival, Stock Route Country Music Festival, Sunset Bash Sydney and more.
