I LIFT UP THE CUP OF SALVATION

I believed even when i said:
I am completely wretched!
I said in my affliction
"Every man is false!"

But the Lord rescued me from death
remembering His mercy
and now return to your rest, my soul.

What can I give back to the Lord
for all His goodness to me?
I will take, I lift up,

the cup of salvation
and I will invoke the name of the Lord.

I offer you a thanksgiving sacrifice
invoking your name, O my Lord,
because you turned to me and saved me.
I lift up to you my prayer
together with all your Church,
I'll walk in your presence
in the midst of the living.

Precious in the sight of the Lord
is the death of His children.

The cords of death were tightening round me
with the nooses of Sheol,
I invoked the name of the Lord and He saved me.
Return to your rest, my soul,
walk in the presence of the Lord,
in the courts of the house of your God,
the God of the living.

What can I give back to the Lord
