(16 Jun 2020) ROMANIA'S NATIONAL THEATRE REOPENS
The Romanian National Theatre reopened Monday evening after being closed for months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under new safety measures audience members are required masks inside the theater and keep several chairs empty between them.
The last show on the Romanian National Theatre's stage took place on March 9.
Artistic consultant Ionut Corpaci and theatre-goers Olteanu Alexandru, Alistar Ancuta and Tania Popescu all expressed their delight performances had been able to resume.
Romania saw a third wave of relaxation measures on June 15, with shopping malls and sports training halls reopening.
As of Monday Romania has reported 22,165 virus cases, including 1,427 deaths, since the announcement of the first case on February 26.
