Writer/director Damien Chazelle (Whiplash) takes a few minutes to talk to us about his new film La La Land and his awakening to the merits of the musical genre. Going for something timeless, "Old Hollywood", he pairs Ryan Gosling with Emma Stone to do a film that explores the tension between dreams and reality. It's a movie that Emma Stone needed to do because it felt so unique, a musical and a throwback to the golden era.
