Bryan Guy Adams OC OBC (born 5 November 1959) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, composer, guitarist, record producer, and photographer. Adams has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him the best-selling Canadian male artist ever, and one of the best-selling music artists of all-time. Adams was the most played artist on Canadian radio in the 2010s and has had 25 Top 15 singles in Canada, and a dozen or more in each of the US, UK, and Australia.
On 30 October 2021, Adams cancelled his participation in a tribute to singer Tina Turner, just before the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, after testing positive for COVID-19. On 25 November 2021, Adams tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time, and was hospitalized in Italy. A hospital update described him as "symptomatic" but "on the mend."
Track from 'Bryan Adams', his self-titled debut solo studio album after previously being the lead vocalist of Canadian hard rock band Sweeney Todd, released on 12 February 1980 by A&M Records. While the album did not gain attention in the US, "Hidin' From Love" reached number 64 and "Give Me Your Love" reached number 91 on Canada's RPM 100 Singles chart. The first tour was across Canada playing clubs and colleges. It was during this time that Adams developed the songs for his next and US breakthrough album 'You Want It You Got It' (1981). Then came international success.
I can't say I was a huge fan of Adams through the years but I did like his songs (except Heaven for some reason) and had nothing but respect for his natural and driven talent. As I have listened to more of him lately I have started to really like his music. He has a flair writing the hook.
