Do what the great Ben Hogan did and that is to maintain your wrist well into your down swing remember you've got to make sure that your grip pressure is light enough that when you get in this position you can return with your right hand very quickly into the ball light grip pressure I want to make sure that I go back as wide as possible up to the top full shoulder turn hold the wrist till you're about right there and then pour it on with your right hand so this is what I do to hit the ball farther maintain very light grip pressure the reason you do that is that when you're swinging hard you want to be able to return the club to square if you grip on too tightly what happens is that people will Rush down and they'll get the handle ahead of the club head too far causing a push like this or they'll they'll use your shoulders and come across over the top like this grip pressure is really important keep it light the last thing I'm thinking about here is complete my shoulder turn I want to make sure that my shoulders move back as far as I can without me moving off balance or off center so I'm really get back I really feel this stretch right up in here like this I start down the same speed as I go back there in the separation and then I just hit it as hard as I can with my right hand squares up like this and forward like that let's put it into action left toe out a little bit more light grip pressure now I'm thinking full shoulder turn and hit the heck out of it so this is what I do to hit the ball farther I move my left toe out that helps me clear my left side a little bit faster maintain very light grip pressure go back as wide as possible so that you can create more centrifugal force and Club head speed into the ball complete my shoulder turn I want to make sure that my shoulders move back as far as I can without me moving off balance or off center and then I just hit it as hard as I can with my right hand squares up like this and forward like that
