We learn more about what inspired the imagining of this traditional mountain ski-cabin — aptly named Phoenix Rising after it was built from the literal ashes of a quintessential lake cottage — and how he morphed this symmetrical building into a warm and inviting abode full of geometric surprises and functional upgrades — including, but not limited to: a wood-burning fireplace in the great room, along with decorative beams and a circular multi-layered chandelier that binds the space together; a kitchen that embraces natural light and the beautiful views outside through bar seating under the cabinet window; a curved staircase for a touch of whimsey; and an intricate roofing pattern that is applied indoors as well.
