In 1958 electrification stopped at Sevenoaks, so at Tonbridge all trains were worked by steam. As well as passenger trains there was still plenty of freight - in the sort of 4-wheeled wagons which have since disappeared.
Shunting was however 'dieselised,' and we see some of this activity from the cab of what's now known as a Class 08.
