Hare Krishna !!

Try out this Rathyatra special Goti Baingan recipe which is one of the 56 bhoga offerings made for Lord Jagannath in Puri. This wonderful brinjal curry is just unskippable this rathyatra.

Servings - 4

Ingredients :

1 egg plant or goti baingan

For pakori -

½ cup urad dal
2 tbsp water
Salt to taste

For masala -

1 tsp cumin seed
2 tbsp coriander seed
Small peice of cinemon stick
1 tsp black pepper
7 to 8 cloves

Ghee for frying
2 tbsp ghee
2 tbsp panchforon ( cumin seed, fennel seed, fenugreek seed, mustard seed and calonji )
2 to 3 bay leaves
½ tsp turmeric powder
2 cups water
Salt to taste
½ cup grated fresh coconut
Garnish it with some chopped coriander leaves
