In a grassroots effort to advance social justice and racial equity, a small group of Kansas Citians launched the nation’s largest street murals project. KC Art on the Block included six Black Lives Matter murals across Kansas City, six distinct designs by local African-American artists, 1,000 volunteers, and 1,200 gallons of paint. Come learn from the project’s organizers how KC Art on the Block materialized, the fundraising behind it, and what the nonprofit sector can learn from its success.
