The 2001-2002 NBA Playoffs culminated in Jason Kidd leading the New Jersey Nets to the NBA Finals to face the Los Angeles Lakers in his first year with the franchise. The Lakers, already back-to-back NBA champions, made mince meat of their competition, sweeping the Nets on the back of Finals MVP Shaquille O'Neal and his 36.3 points and 12.3 rebounds.
