I just watched Disney's Encanto and I LOVED it because it shows a variety of family roles and dynamics. As a therapist, I believe families are always striving for balance. When one or more family members are struggling, other members may subconsciously step into these dysfunctional family roles as a way to rebalance the family and to avoid reflecting on their own issues. Knowing that every family has its share of dysfunctions, there is always room to work towards healthier family dynamics.

Considering the theories of family therapy, I will be breaking down the characters from Encanto and showing how their dysfunctional family roles are ACTUALLY functional. This is a fresh movie reaction or reaction video to Encanto after watching it for the first time! #therapistreacts
