Nigeria has been chosen to host the Africa Energy Bank, a $5 billion initiative aimed at increasing funding for the oil and gas sector in Africa. The bank, supported by the African Petroleum Producers' Organization and the African Export-Import Bank, will be headquartered in Abuja.

The establishment of the bank aims to address the significant funding gap in the industry, facilitate investments in energy projects, and promote energy security and economic growth.
