Former President Donald Trump called his vice-presidential running mate, JD Vance, just 10 minutes after an assassination attempt during a round of golf, and according to Vance Trump said he was "a little mad" because the Secret Service had stopped him from finishing the game when he was lining up a birdie putt on the sixth hole. Vance also pleaded the Democrats to tone down the rhetoric or "somebody is going to get hurt by it and it's going to destroy this country." A man suspected of hiding for nearly 12 hours in an apparent attempt to assassinate Donald Trump at his Florida golf course was charged with two gun-related crimes on Monday (September 16), a day after authorities say he was spotted in the bushes with a rifle as the former U.S. president played nearby.
