Dividing hostas is a great way to create a beautiful landscape with plenty of ground cover and not break the bank. You can buy one plant, grow it for a year, and then split the hostas into multiple plants and then transplant them out into your landscape. I keep an area of my hoop house loaded with pots of hostas just so I can divide them and plant them out in the landscape whenever I'm ready.
