Deftones - Prayers / Triangles drum cover. The chill, mesmerizingly soft verses really amplify the distorted, heavy choruses in this song. Deftones definitely utilizes that type of juxtaposition and I think it works very well. The singer has a very beautiful voice and that delayed guitar effect adds so much to the verses. Their newest album - Gore - is worth a listen!
There were a few interesting grooves in "Prayers / Triangles". I think the bridges were most challenging because of the strangely placed accents. I had to think about those to get them right. I liked that I had to use my left hand to lead the verses. I'm actually thinking about doing a lefty drum cover at some point this summer. Let me know if you'd want to see that!
Audio recorded using my Presonus Studiolive 16.0.2 mixer and edited on Garageband. For the first time in years, I mic'd my second floor tom instead of my rack tom. What a crazy video, I know. Video captured using 2 different camera angles and edited on iMovie. Thanks for watching!
