After looking at the Gallaecian and Celtiberian languages in the last episode, a viewer asked if there were still Celtic influences in Galician and Portuguese today. This video summarises two fantastic videos on the subject in order to shed light on the question.
The first is "Galician vs Portuguese (How SIMILAR are they?)" by Langfocus which looks at the history of Galician and Portuguese, stemming from Galego-Portuguese which is attested in the 9th century before branching off into separate languages in the 13th century.

The second video is How "Celtic is the Portuguese Language?" by Ben Llywelyn which looks at the vowel distance of the romance languages from Latin, before looking at the sounds available in Portuguese in comparison to other Romance languages. Finally, Ben then looks at some words which contain a Celtic root and compares them to Welsh.
