In this video I detail how to build your own pool pump and filter! This setup is completely removable from the pool and requires no holes being drilled into the pool. This allows this pump and filter to be used in almost any pool to include a stock tank pool or kiddie pools. I use a 3/4 hp submersible pump and attach it to a 10 inch by 4.5 inch whole house filter. I show you how I mount the filter to the pool and attach a pole to the pump so I can move the pump around like a vacuum. I built this because my 1500 gallon per hour (GPH) Bestway pool pump and filter broke last year after only three months of use! The pump and filter never really cleaned the pool either so I did not replace it in 2020 because it cost about $400. April 2021, the pump is available for about $200 plus shipping. I show you how to build a whole system yourself for about $150 dollars which allows you to use a filter which is almost twice the size as the type III Filter which I was using in my Bestway pump. These filters are readily available and are made down to 1 micron filtering capacity. I recommend using 60 to 40 micron if your pool hasn't been cleaned in a while like mine. Once the pool gets clean, you can add a 30 or 30 micron filter to keep the water crystal clear. My pool looked like a swamp because it was not cleaned since the pump broke in September of 2020. It took about six days for my pool to go from swamp water to crystal clear water. I used a 1/3 hp pump for two days, then upgraded to a 1/2 hp pump for two days then ordered a 3/4 hp pump which worked the best. I also used pool chemicals which was pool shock and a four in one HTH Chlorinating Granules. All chemicals were used per manufacturers directions and dosages.
