If you want to know about true ending conditions and alternative endings, check below.
But first one important note about this video - about my general rule on checking everything:
There is some balance between knowing what’s ahead and making it look like I’m exploring things - for example I never do dramatically wrong choices, such as taking wrong tunnel or entering completely empty room (or one with killer in it) at the last part of the game. Also I do not check every single corner, because I know that some of those are empty and there is no point checking every window, for example, as well as some repeating memos or doors. On the other hand I checked every single “pick up” prompt - even when I knew, that there will be no loot as a result. Also, I still check everythig that does not repeat information and even look in some empty corners from time to time, so it at least looks like I’m exploring for the first time, as it should be in cinematic run.
There are 2 things I could do additionally - checking my inventory for item descriptions and press “V” for tips on every new objective. But I find those mostly repetitive, every piece of information is already in my video without the need to repeat it there, with one small exception - I think it was a right thing to do to see tip after reading Seho’s note at the Main Building 4F Toilet, where he talks about red pictures.
Now about True ending. There are 5 possible endings - those depend on whether you deal with 0, 1, 2, or 3 failed subjects - and the best ending you get only if you talk with Noteman about getting out, before entering West Building, plus you must make certain choices during your quests - not changing your Math results by hacking, helping Mina and not lying to Yaesol about your card. Basically, you have to be virtuous.
You won’t see first 4 endings on my channel - but in short, in those you never get out, and just stay into coma in every single one of those. So ambulance coming for you and depending on amount of quests done, people speak differently of you - the more quests you did, the better. But in final ending you wake up and finish exams, but then time skips and you still get into coma - for unknown reasons, but we can assume it’s Seho’s doing. So while big picture stays the same (for a sequel), fixing grades and relationships at the school is still a good result of it all.
Finally - about one exception that I had to make.
I never picked up one note - number 5-10, “Tome Page: Exiting The Coma #2” - in Cafeteria, before entering West Building last time. You can see me picking it up, only because I made a montage and pasted someone else footage of picking it up and reading it. It’s almost unnoticeable (since I’m a true master of montage lol), but if you look closely you can still see it. And later you can see that this entry in my notes is empty again.
Now, before you say “run is void” etc. - it was not my fault. I did not miss or forgot about it. Actually, it’s a bug - in this version of the game (2.1.4), for some reason this note is unavailable for pick up. I finished game 3 times and it was never available, no matter how I did it. I also searched through every single room and corridor, tried every tunnel in both directions, to be sure if it’s not anywhere else - and it’s not. So, the only way to show you it’s content was a montage - and obviously, I find someone else playing some previous version of the game, where that note was actually there and available for pick up. Well, what can I say - sometimes indie games have bugs that I cannot deal with normally. Thankfully, notes do not have any effect on ending, so there are no lasting effect from that situation.
Also, one really small detail - there is one note that can be picked up twice - 1-7, about finding recorder. It was probably a mistake, but it appears at the Biology class after you find Recorder’s part and it is also in the basement, after you give it to the Shade.
