We two friends, Ruth Hartunian-Alumbaugh and Kathleen Thompson, decided to celebrate Christmas on the 25th of every month to have something to look forward to since we didn’t get to celebrate Christmas the way we would have liked!

And, because we’re musicians, we’re doing it with seasonal music, paired with the song, We Need a Little Christmas, to share the joy of the season with you for the whole year.

"First of May" is a tune written by the Bee Gees in 1969. The title of the song, interestingly enough, came from the birthday of Barry Gibb's dog. It was a song featured in the soundtrack to Melody, a British motion picture about two children in love and even a theme song for a Japanese drama called Wakaba no Koro. We chose it because hey, it's all about May! Merry Christmas to you this 25th of May!

This Month’s Charitable Organization is the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts.
The Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Connecticut was
founded in 1955. It strives to be one of the leading presenters of the performing arts in the nation. The complex consists of a 2,300 seat auditorium, the 500 seat Harriet S. Jorgensen Theater and the Jorgensen Gallery. Located on the Storrs campus, Jorgensen is a vital component of the flagship public higher education institution in the state of Connecticut.
