For my birthday this year, I made a trip to Louisville, KY to tour the Angel's Envy Distillery!

As a newbie in the world of bourbon, I've found it to be a tad overwhelming getting started. So glad Angel's Envy had a tour going when we arrived. I learned so much about bourbon in a super, user-friendly way. We learned about the process, tasted some sour mash, and then had a very proper lesson on tasting bourbon. :-)

In this 2nd video installment, I learned about the stills and how they work, got a chance to taste the "new make" (aka White Lightening), and got the full 411 on the barrels: the charring, their purpose in the finishing process, etc. Good times.
