The government and the NHS face a huge task in caring for a growing ageing population and at the same time, providing a step by step guide on criteria for choosing the right care home.
Such criteria includes location, facilities, care needs and just as importantly, funding.
Choosing a care home isn't a decision that can be taken lightly. It's more than likely a decision you've not made before - or will only make a couple of times in your life. So you need to get it right!
In this programme we speak to Sheila Scott, chief executive of the National Care Association.
The Association promotes high standards of care and represents the interests of providers caring for elderly people, people with learning disabilities, the physically handicapped, the mentally ill, children and domiciliary care agencies.
We also hear from leading care providers Grupo Sanyre, ILG Homes and New Directions who share their knowledge and expertise in providing the highest quality of care.
