A collateral headshot kill from 175m away with iron sights? Child's play.*
Despite showing up in the opening campaign of BF1 that new players experience when booting for the first time, the M1903 Springfield's iron-sight variant was notably absent from the multiplayer weapon roster**. It wasn't until the summer update of 2018*** that finally saw the variant join the ranks... as an alternate firemode of the M1903 Experimental. This effectively turned the rifle that's two weapons in one - a CQC spam clicker, or a long-range infantry rifle. Today's video focuses on some (hopefully) satisfying long-range iron sights sniping action.
*This definitely wasn't a fluke shot that I was lucky to record. Honest.
**The M1903 Infantry was available in the 'standard issue rifle' game mode, and you could use K Bullets with the M1903 Experimental prior to the Summer 2018 patch for a pseudo bolt-action iron sights M1903... Just without the sweet spot, needing to reload after every shot, and doing reduced damage to infantry.
***The M1917 Enfield Infantry that was added in the Apocalypse DLC might have been DICE's attempt at giving players a 'close enough' version of the M1903 Infantry - in that it was a rifle primarily fielded by the US, with iron sights, and an identical sweet spot range to the M1903. One extra round in the magazine too!
