This Ford GT pays homage to the legendary GT40, the car that beat Ferrari at the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1967. This race marked the culmination of a legendary feud between Ferrari and Ford, and was also memorable in that it was the first true "All American" race for Ford, featuring an American car with two American drivers: Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt. In the new GT's inaugural 2016 season, Ford repeated its Le Mans success with a win in the GTE Pro Class.
This Heritage Edition wears the same scheme of the 1967 Le Mans winning GT40 Mark IV. It is the only Ford GT painted in its entirety within the Multimatic facility due to its complexity, whereas all other GTs are painted offsite. Featuring a gloss-finish Race Red experience with white stripes and exposed Carbon Package, it also sports a Frozen White No. 1 hood and door graphics, 20-inch one-piece forged aluminum wheels in silver satin with black lug nuts. Red calipers and silver rearview mirror caps complete the look.
The interior beings with leather trimming for the carbon fiber seats, complete with red accent stitching carried over to the steering wheel. The seatbelt webbing is red, and paddle shifters anodized gray. Satin dark stainless appliques are used on the instrument panel, door register bezels, and X-brace.
Rounding out modifications to this Heritage Edition is a unique serialized ID plate, exposed matte carbon fiber door sills, air register pods and center console. Build photos accompany the car, as does the ordering kit. The car is completely filmed with clear wrap, including the undercarriage, by award-winning OzBraz in Phoenix.
