Business at a city business centre came to a standstill after a 26-year-old pilot landed in a chopper to grace a press conference.
Joshua Mwangi Gathumbi had toured Dagoretti Slaughterhouse in Dagoretti South sub-county to address a press conference on the 80% tax imposed by the government on cow hides.
A crowd thronged to catch a glimpse of the youth plus the chopper as others took photos through mobile phones while others expected a high profile politician to disembark from the chopper.
Mr Mwangi, who hails from the area said he was much concerned on the way farmers are being oppressed by the tax leaving them in poverty.
“The slaughterhouses we have here are benefitting more than 1,000 people indirectly and directly through employment. I urge the government to reverse the 80% tax to the value added to the tanneries and have the remaining 20% imposed to the farmer,” he said.
