Dr. Matthews is Chief of MedStar Union Memorial Hospital's nationally recognized orthopedic surgery program in Baltimore Maryland. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery, specializing in arthroscopic surgery, reconstructive knee and shoulder surgery and sports medicine. He received his medical training at Baylor College and The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Dr. Matthews is a member of the team of physicians which provide medical coverage to the Baltimore Ravens, and collegiate sports support around the state of Maryland. He's also the head team physician for the Men's US Lacrosse team.
