Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilitsa handed over seven volumes to the EU Ambassador to Moldova, Janis Mazeiks, in the presence of the European Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson. The first part of the full questionnaire was sent on April 22.
“The European Union is a devoted friend to us. A friend who was always there, even in difficult times,” said Gavrilitsa. Johansson assured that the EU is trying to speed up Moldova’s accession process “as much as possible”.
Moldova and Georgia submitted applications for EU membership on March 3. Ukraine did so on February 28, four days after Russia launched a special operation on the territory of the republic.
