At the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, Porsche has revealed its updated range topper of the Cayenne range, the 2015 Cayenne Turbo S. It now produces more power thanks to a re-engineered engine, handling enhancements, and the title of the fastest SUV around the famed Nurburgring as well.
First up, let’s begin with the figures. The 4.8-litre V8 bi-turbocharged engine from the regular Turbo now produces 50 extra ponies bringing the grand total to 570 hp (419 kW) and 800 Nm of torque, 50 Nm more than the pre-facelift model. The new engine itself benefits from internal turbochargers housed directly in the exhaust manifolds improving its responsiveness. It is combined with an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox Porsche Traction Management (PTM) active all-wheel drive system. 0-100 km/h can be completed 0.4 seconds faster than the previous model at 4.1 seconds.
As an option, buyers can fit with a sport exhaust system combined with a switchable sound symposer, reminding the driver of the mountain of power at his disposal by transmitting the V8 sound experience into the interior.
To cope with its high power, the 2015 Cayenne Turbo S is equipped with Porsche’s Composite Ceramic Brakes (PCCB), Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) active roll stabilization system reducing side tilt when driven through curves early on. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), increasing handling and stability by braking the right or left rear wheel to increase its steering accuracy.
Other highlights include 21-inch wheels with black painted edges, LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus), leather interior with carbon accents, and embossed Porsche logos on all head restraints.
