Marie "Mimi" Haist was a volunteer at a laundromat when she first met Zach Galifianakis. She had been living on the streets and surviving off the generosity of laundromat customers. Since she was not allowed to sleep outside, she would rest between the washing machines and dryers to avoid detection.
