Carlos A. Pellegrini, MD, FACS, FRCSI(Hon), FRCS(Hon), FRCSEd(Hon) is a world-renowned leader in minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery. In 2018, he retired from his position as chair of the University of Washington’s Department of Surgery after 23 years, where he also led the university’s Center for Videoendoscopic Surgery. Dr. Pellegrini served as the 94th President of the American College of Surgeons from 2013-2014, and is a member of the Board of The Joint Commission.
