Our question this week comes from a nontraditional premed who spent 3 and a half years on a nursing program, then added two more years of undergrad, and still has 2 more years to go. How will medical schools view a 7-year undergrad degree? Will it hurt their application to med school?
For the most part, it won't be an issue. Just tell your story and explain why you did the things you do. That said, there are some possible concerns that medical schools may have, depending on the details. So let's talk about those! And let's address some issues for how to input these years of undergrad courses into AMCAS.
