Another one of Montreal's assorted gems, we now look into the quaint but spacious PUBLIC MARKETS of Montreal. Featuring two of the most famous markets in Montreal, Jean-Talon Market and St. Michel Market a.k.a Marché D'Antan, of which is a flea market.
The markets in Montreal are all part of the MPM, which is a short for Marché Publique de Montréal. This corporation has a mission of giving Montrealers access to local produce at public markets that correspond to their identity. The corporation’s goal is "to honour the traditions of past public markets, pay tribute to Québec’s heritage and to be a place where rural and urban cultures meet." (MPM Official Website). Today, each of the city's markets has a wide selection of fresh produce and non-edible goods from all over Québec, and is staffed by knowledgeable vendors who are eager to offer their expertise. The markets also serves as a 'lieu de rendezvous' for people to meet, interact, and the market can also be made to hold a community event.
Directed and produced, by yours truly.
