Moel Siabod is probably one of Snowdonia's lesser known mountains. It stands at 872m above sea level and because of its isolated position it offers a fantastic view of the Snowdon Massif on a clear day.
There are a few paths up to the top, I decided to take a not so popular one from the village of Dolwyddelan which led me to the base of the Daear Ddu Ridge. The scramble up this ridge is not as impressive as some of the other scrambles on Snowdonia, but even so it added a little more spice to my ascent to the top of Moel Siabod.
My route back took me to Castle Dolwyddelan, an enchanting place to finish my walk especially as the sun was beginning to sink below the horizon casting long shadow and a deep glow of a day reaching its conclusion.
