Holding Period Return (HPR) is one of the most basic measurements of a portfolio’s performance. While not as detailed as some of the other measures of investment returns, HPR is one of the easiest and fastest measures to calculate. HPR will provide a rough estimate of an investment's performance and allow you to compare it to similar investments in the same investment time frame.
