The Panerai Luminor Tuttonero 1950 3 Days GMT Automatic Ceramica PAM 438 combines everything you loved about the Panerai Luminor with a scratch-resistant ceramic case and Panerai’s first-ever ceramic bracelet. Wow, that was an easy write-up!
Ok, so the PAM 438 deserves a bit more of an introduction than that. This Panerai Luminor 1950 is another entry in the growing family of Panerai Ceramica references, but it’s also a true milestone entry in that catalog. While Panerai stood among the very first pioneers of the now red-hot “black watch” aesthetic with the 1997 5218-210 (pre-Vendome!), only with the 2007 arrival of ceramic did PAM fully exorcise the demons of PVD.
Panerai’s PAM 438 Tuttonero takes scratch-resistant ceramic technology to the next level. The highlights are a black ceramic case and matching bracelet that will not scratch through and reveal light metal beneath; unlike "PVD" or "DLC" cases that look cool until you scuff them, ceramic is black throughout, and the material is as scratch-resistant as a sapphire watch crystal. Moreover, Panerai’s Tuttonero is true to its name, and a ceramic bezel, crown guard, and locking lever complete the watch’s “ceramic set.”
The simulated patina "dirty dial" resembles the faded radium dials of the original Panerai combat dive watches. Its unconventional layout (for a Panerai) includes full Arabic numerals.
Moreover, the inclusion of a second timezone differentiates this Luminor from its uncomplicated brethren in the Panerai line. The PAM 438 features a caliber 9001/B three-day automatic movement with a second time zone indicator among the primary hands. The utility of the second time zone is undeniable, and it ranks among the most useful real-world complications in high horology.
The icing on the cake is the hidden case back power reserve indicator on the blacked-out caliber 9001/B's structure. It's a useful feature when you want it and invisible when you don't.
Between the complications and nearly scratch-proof black ceramic, the Panerai Luminor Tuttonero 1950 3 Days GMT Automatic Ceramica PAM 438 features style and substance. It's available with all Panerai factory boxes, papers, manuals, and accessories (including the second strap and jeweler's tool) from [ Ссылка ]
