I have played this sonata for over 30 years. I performed it by heart at Lincoln Elementary School in 1989. I wanted to see if I could learn it again by heart and record it. I have not played by memory in many years. It is a fun sonata with 64th note passages that are not too difficult but hard to keep smooth when you can't practice scales for hours anymore.... The playing is without pedal as I think that is best for Scarlatti. Thank you to Norman Oritz for ideas on interpretation. The painting of reflections on water is by my brother Mark Allison.
