In November 2020 I hiked the Goat Canyon Trestle via Carrizo Canyon and here are some highlights.
The trail follows the railroad to the Goat Canyon Trestle, the largest wooden trestle in the WORLD!! It was built in 1933 and if you want to test your fear of heights, I dare you to walk across it!
This was an amazing 16-mile hike that crosses a number of wooden trestles and goes through many tunnels. A couple of the tunnels were blocked off, but they have bypass routes. One of the tunnels was about half a mile long so make sure you bring a flashlight!
You can check out my hiking guide for more information on this trail and other great spots in the Anza-Borrego desert!!
