Excessive heat continues throughout this week.
The WCNC Charlotte Weather Team wants you to be Weather Aware because of the dangerous heat ongoing across the Carolinas this week.
The Charlotte metro saw afternoon high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90s across the board Wednesday. It was the hottest day of the year so far with a high of 99 degrees.
Stay Weather Aware this week, especially on Saturday and Sunday. And look for creative ways to beat the heat by reducing your chances of falling ill in the unseasonably hot weather.
And while the scorching temperatures catch your eye, the ongoing high humidity can lead to health concerns, especially among people with medical conditions. Some best practices include drinking water throughout the day, limit your exposure to the sun, and staying cool with an AC or fan to allow your indoor space to remain cool and comfortable.
