The Ministry of National Defense unveiled 4 new types of missile systems to the public. The test footage showcased supersonic land-attack / anti-ship cruise missile, Hyunmoo-4 "high-powered" theatre ballistic missile, Hyunmoo 4-4 submarine-launched ballistic missile, and long-ranged air-launched cruise missiles.
The supersonic cruise missile has been an urban legend for the past decade. The latest unveiling confirmed that the development has been completed. This missile will be employed in land attack & anti-ship roles from land-based and seaborne platforms.
Hyunmoo 4 is a "bunker buster" missile with approximately 2.5~3 tons warhead designed to strike hardened structures in North Korea.
Hyunmoo 4-4 SLBM was developed to be operated from KSS-III (Dosan Ahn Changho-class) submarines and is equipped with conventional warhead.
