After cutting down a tree branch, a neighbor discoverd this baby owl on the ground govered in maggots. The owl was brought to our rescue and we immidietly removed the maggots and cleaned the wounds. He was then put in a shoe box with a heating pad underneath to keep warm. The owl had ten holes in his head, wing and chest. A total of fifteen maggots were removed.
