In an attempt to improve our health status, we decided to give rebounding a try. There are so many choices/brands/designs to choose from. We chose this model because it seemed to check all the boxes on our list. The 45” size has also worked out great for us. I like the bungees over springs (both will get weaker over time) but the bungees just seemed like the better choice. Some of the main frame parts were scratched upon arrival. We used a magic marker to color in the scratches…a little better packing would have prevented this.
We did find the instructions to be a bit lacking but a here are a few things to keep in mind that will help your assembly.
1, With the tramp/mesh upside-down, insert the bungees from right to left through the loops on the tramp. This will help with the ball and bungee alignment when you snap them into place.
2, Make sure the product name (which is facing downward at this point) is lined up with the outside frame member that has the hole in the center (where the handlebar attaches). This will ensure that your logo/name is lined up with the handle when you are finished.
3, Start by attaching the bungee just hooked over the threaded leg fitting. Do opposite sides, one at a time. Then, start attaching the bungees using the included tool.
4, I would recommend using some type of thread locker (glue) on the threaded portion where the legs screw on. This will help keep them from getting loose. Make sure the legs are screwed on really tight!
5, When installing the handle, the long bolt with the spacer goes between the lower (adjustable) cross-bar. The spacer goes between the vertical square tube and the round cross-bar.
6, It was reported by a viewer that two of his legs were shorter than the rest. I can't speak to the validity of this...but do check your legs to make sure they are ALL the same length before attaching them with the loctite or some type of adhesive.
We have found the handle bar assembly to be a bit loose no matter how tight you get the large set screw. At first this was annoying, but it only took a few minutes on the rebounder to realize that you really don’t need to have a death-grip on the handlebar! Just use it in the beginning to help with your balance. It won’t take long and you won’t even need to use it!
My wife is 130 lbs and I am 190 lbs. We found a compromise on the handlebar height that works for both of us. I can tell that this is a stiff rebounder (compared to some we have been on). It is rated for a max of 330 lbs. Since we know that over time the bungees will stretch, our rebounder will get softer as the years roll by. Even with the difference in our weights, this unit is easily satisfying our rebounding needs. We are very pleased with our purchase. Thanks!
