On February 03, a second spell of snowfall blanketed J&K’s beautiful city of Srinagar. The Valley witnessed snowfall after a prolonged dry spell during the winter months bringing joy to all residents. The snow covered the trees and roofs of buildings throughout the city, creating a picturesque winter scene. The snowfall provided a big relief to farmers in the agriculture sector, as the precipitation benefited the crops.
The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
