Malcolm Bligh Turnbull is the current Prime Minister of Australia and has been the Member of Parliament for Wentworth since 2004.
Having attained degrees in political science and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney, he won a Rhodes Scholarship in 1978 and attended Brasenose College, Oxford where he graduated his Bachelor of Civil Law degree with honours.
While at Oxford he worked for The Sunday Times, contributing as a journalist to newspapers and magazines both in the United States and Australia.
Following his education and journalism career, Turnbull returned to Australia where he has had a number of successful careers in law (in-house at Australian Consolidated Press Holdings Group as well as in his own firm, Turnbull McWilliam), banking, writing and internet service provision.
A leadership spill on 14th September 2015 saw Turnbull challenge Tony Abbot’s position as leader of the Liberal party. He was sworn in as the 29th Prime Minister of Australia on September 15th.
