OST - TEQ Bardock Active Skill
With WWDC around the corner with Part One featuring Vegito and Merged Zamasu which put heavy emphasis on Dokkan Original Animations, I wanted to create a Dokkan Animation from the DBS manga. I already have created one for the transformation for SSG Vegeta, so I thought it would be best to do Goku next.
This is the first animation that uses Adobe Animate, so I learned more about how Dokkan Animations manages to do specific things in an animation. However, I'm not sure about in-game usability and scripting.
This animation was focused more on the asset creation, so I put heavy emphasis on how the assets looked. For the art style, I went for a more modern look in the coloring which features colored highlights and shading while still keeping the colors related to the Future Trunks Saga. A neat thing I thought was cool was having the aura effect transition from a light blue to a darker blue with a hint of purple to demonstrate Hakai. I also wanted include more interaction with enemy sprites, so there is engagement in the animation. In the editing phase, the idea to make the music mute during the Hakai occurred to me while adjusting audio between the music and sound effects, which I felt made it more impactful and engaging.
This animation was intended to be an Active Skill, but this can also work as a Stand-By Super Attack where if enough Ki is collected during battle, hence I added a unique quote color for "DESTRUCTION!!!".
