All New 2025 Acura RDX PHEV: Review - Price - Interior And Exterior Redesign
Possibilities abound for the entertaining and functional Acura RDX PHEV. In addition to being fashionable, athletic, and roomy, it also provides great value in the long run. This SUV is competent overall, but the infotainment system is our biggest gripe. Hopefully, this will be one of the main areas that Acura improves upon when it updates the 2025 RDX PHEV.
The 2025 RDX PHEV, according to Acura, would get "upgrades to enhance its appeal and functionality." Our team is planning a number of significant feature and tech enhancements. Powertrain upgrades, exterior design changes, and new interior materials and styles are all possibilities for future improvements. Also, it would be great if Acura could find a way to lessen the noise that tires make.
Our greatest hope is that Acura gives the 2025 RDX PHEV's technology package some serious consideration. Not everyone will be a fan of the electronic gear shifter that relies on buttons and levers, and the center stack is jam-packed with controls. We have already voiced our disapproval of the RDX PHEV's antiquated instrument cluster in earlier evaluations.
Though we hope for significant updates in this area shortly, Acura may hold off on revamping the RDX PHEV's infotainment system until the redesign. There is no touchscreen on the Acura system, which is different from the majority of modern infotainment systems. Drivers are relegated to using a cumbersome touchpad located in the center stack to operate the features of the 10.2-inch display. Not only does Acura need to make the infotainment system more intuitive, but they also need to fix the RDX PHEV's voice commands, which were useless to us.
We pointed out in our comparison review that the RDX PHEV came in second place behind the Lexus NX, so all Acura has to do to make this SUV competitive is make a couple tweaks. The 2025 RDX PHEV is now in the middle of the pack when it comes to premium compact SUVs, but with some upgrades in technology, it may be a serious contender by 2025.
The 2025 RDX PHEV will maintain Acura's tradition of offering numerous standard safety features. Among these features should be the ability to identify pedestrians, maintain lane assistance, monitor blind spots, rear cross-traffic, automatically raise the headlights, and use adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow.
A new vehicle is joining the U.S. fleet, even though the RDX PHEV has been Acura's entry-level SUV for years. A smaller and less powerful alternative to the RDX PHEV, the next tiny Acura SUV is expected to debut with a price tag of less than $40,000. This new Acura vehicle may be the perfect compromise between the Integra hatchback and the RDX PHEV SUV.
