The VW Beetle: everyone has their own story with this iconic German car. Before the Volkswagen company even existed, there was the Beetle. Engineer Ferdinand Porsche developed it on commission from Hitler. The Beetle became the very first car VW built, and it was in production for 65 years. The Beetle is the model most strongly associated with Volkswagen, and for a period, it was the most popular car in the world.
