Yeah, I get that I've been a few of these videos with almost the same approach, but hear me out before you run off.
Going for a one-barracks opener instead of a 2-rax opener saves me about 20 seconds in total. By skipping the oil derricks, I can use the money I would have otherwise spent on red guard and capture upgrade to push out that helix quicker.
Without those oil derricks, I have to rely on my supply depot to collect maximum income. This requires near-perfect placement of the supply depot so the trucks travel minimum distances to and fro. There's a sweet spot where, if the supply depot is placed as such, the supply trucks essentially don't move between picking up and dropping off supplies. Getting this is really key to getting the economy you need for this run to happen.
