Scaled down ever so slightly from his standard OM, Mario Beauregard has crafted a beautiful 12-fret guitar that is sure to please any player who is a fan of lush, slow-blooming overtones and lingering sustain. Mario used an unusual hybrid cedar for the soundboard, which he described as having a stiffness comparable to spruce, giving this guitar an unusual combination of cedar's warmth with spruce-like articulation. Stunning in its orange hue, South American pernambuco can be hard to come by in sets large enough for a guitar. Often compared to Brazilian rosewood, it has a vibrant voice that combines sparkling highs with a well-rounded bass. In Mario's hands, it absolutely sings. He combines a shorter 25" scale length with medium gauge .13s, to add clarity and tension for drop tunings (.12s can be swapped in for those who prefer a lighter gauge). All in all, this 00 is another masterfully crafted and exquisitely appointed instrument from Mario, and we couldn't be more proud to showcase it.
